Access to Care
Many Ontarians face barriers in accessing oral health care services, including affordability. A lack of access to oral health care can have negative impacts, including pain and discomfort, difficulty eating, and loss of opportunity because of poor oral health. It is estimated that one in five people in Canada avoid going to the dentist because of the cost.
As the regulatory body for Ontario dentists working in the public’s interest, we believe that access to equitable oral health care must be improved for all Ontarians. This is why the College has made advancing equitable access to oral health care a priority.
