Caution

Current Status:
Completed
As a result of a complaint, the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee decided to caution Dr. Tri Tang Nguyen as follows:

• The College’s Quality Assurance Program serves a vital role in giving patients confidence in the quality of dentistry in Ontario. It ensures that dentists maintain current in their knowledge, skill and judgment so they provide safe, effective, appropriate and ethical dental care.

• Every practicing Ontario dentist is expected to evaluate their competencies every five years by successfully completing the online Practice Enhancement Tool (PET).

• The Committee is disappointed that Dr. Nguyen did not comply with his obligation to successfully complete the PET and did not meet with the practice assessor appointed by the Quality Assurance Committee to verify his competencies.

• The Committee is also dismayed that Dr. Nguyen reported on his 2022 membership renewal form that he was in compliance with the College’s quality assurance requirements when he was not.

• Dr. Nguyen is cautioned to meet his obligations to successfully complete the College’s quality assurance requirements so that he ensures his continued competence and patients are protected.

• Dr. Nguyen is also cautioned to accurately report his compliance with the College’s Quality Assurance Program on his membership renewal forms.
