Canada Post strike has ended – RCDSO mail service impact

The Canada Post strike, which began on Friday, November 15, officially ended on Tuesday, December 17.

While normal mail services are expected to resume, there may still be outstanding delays as Canada Post works through a backlog. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate this transition.

Our previous recommendations remain primarily in effect to help minimize disruptions and ensure timely communication with the College.

Impact on Mail Services

  • General mail delays: Mail sent during the strike may still face delays in transit as Canada Post clears its backlog. Items will be processed based on the date the College receives them, not the date sent.
  • Annual renewal: The renewal deadline remains December 15. We continue to encourage using the online portal to pay for your renewal to ensure timely processing and avoid potential delays with mailed cheques.
  • Concerns/complaints about a dentist: Please continue to submit concerns/complaints using our online submission form to avoid delays. You can also contact a member of our team to discuss your concerns at complaints@rcdso.org or by phone at 1-800-565-4591 ext. 5625.
  • Drop-off options: You may continue to drop off documents at the College during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).

New and International Applicants

We recommend uploading application-related documents to the applicant portal or emailing them to registration@rcdso.org. We also continue to recognize that, on rare occasions, certificates of standing from certain international jurisdictions can only be sent by mail. For time-sensitive documents that cannot be emailed, we encourage you to contact your local mail carriers/couriers to assess the best option before sending documents nationally and internationally to the College.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with registration@rcdso.org.

Holiday Closures

Please note that the College will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday, December 25, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. All documents or inquiries received during this period will be processed in the order they were received when we reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to process any backlogs caused by the strike. Your patience and cooperation are greatly valued. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
