Notice Regarding the Canada Post Strike and its impact on RCDSO operations

The ongoing Canada Post strike, which began on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m., may affect mail delivery to the College for the public, our registrants and applicants. We are working diligently to minimize disruptions and have implemented solutions to mitigate potential delays. 

Impact on mail services 

  • General mail delays: If you have sent mail to the College during the strike, it may be delayed in transit. Items will be processed based on the date received, not the date sent. 

  • Annual renewal: The annual renewal deadline is December 15. The postal strike may impact the timely receipt of cheques to the College. We strongly encourage you to pay for your renewal online through the portal to ensure your payment is received by the deadline.  

  • Concerns/complaints about a dentist: If you have concerns about a dentist, we recommend submitting your concerns/complaints using our online submission form to avoid delays. You can also contact a member of our team to discuss your concerns at complaints@rcdso.org or by phone at 1-800-565-4591 ext. 5625. Please be aware that if you need to mail in your concerns, this may cause delays.  

  • Wall Certificates: Requests for wall certificates will continue to be processed and sent via courier to ensure timely delivery.  

  • Drop-off options: You may drop off hard copies of documents at the College during our regular business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm). A secure drop-off box is available at the College; however, please note that a receipt will not be provided for drop-box submissions. 

      New and international applicants

      We understand the importance of your applications. Supporting documents for your application should be uploaded to the applicant portal or emailed to registration@rcdso.org. We understand that on rare occasions, certificates of standing from some international jurisdictions can only be mailed. For time-sensitive documents that cannot be emailed, we encourage you to contact your local mail carriers/couriers to assess the best option for you before sending documents nationally and internationally to the College.

      Holiday closures 

      The College will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday, December 25, 2024, to Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Any documents or inquiries submitted during this time will resume when the College reopens on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
